Whether you’re an individual or a company, being great is a function of your personal or company genius! Finding Genius is NOT the challenge. I’ve come to recognise that we all have genius within us!
Whether you’re selling a product or service, or trying to start a movement, for other people to buy from you, that genius must be translated into a purpose that matters and a method of influencing change that works.
If you do manage to translate your genius into a purpose and a method that works, you have made the transition to “great” and you can profit from that.
However, turning great into greatness is all about reach! Moving beyond your safe boundaries of who you sell to and influence and stretching into wider boundaries of reach than you could have ever thought possible.
Going from local to regional, regional to national, national to international, international to global. When that happens you have power! An ability to effect change at a rate and size that the average person or company can’t match.
There is so much fascination with scaling a business and you can scale a business at any level (local, regional, national, international) without leaving that level. However, if business is the most powerful force for good on the planet … and I do believe it is … then should we aim for scale or should we aim for greatness?
It can be scary, it means putting you and your business out there, for both good and bad perception. Greatness is NOT for those that want to play safe!
So the question might be, is your business ready for greatness to make the difference it is meant to make?
